Breakthrough

Most of you have probably been to football games and have seen the team coming running out and bust through paper. You have seen scenes on television where cars have busted through home gates. We have heard of medical walls where researchers finally find a breakthrough for a potential cure. It was mentioned in the prayer yesterday at the Easter service; the word breakthrough....and as my eyes were closed and my mind in a state of reflection, an image of a wall being shattered into pieces was before me and a vision of paradise came forth on the other side. The image lasted just for a moment...and the thought, only for a moment as well, that followed was this: all I had to do was to walk through pieces of the shattered wall, and I could stand in the midst of God's glorified paradise.

Thought the thoughts were fleeting, they left a lasting impression and I continued to think about it through the day. Christ blasted through a petition that was fortified by political tradition, self structured agendas, and worldly intent, thought to be solid and stately when in fact it was but a farce of vision when confronted with the power of God.

Christ went before us just as he had promised...and broke down the walls of sin that were standing between us and our ability to have a relationship with God through Christ, blameless, pure, holy and without blemish. Christ was fortified with power and a love that only God could supply. Christ's breakthrough was carefully calculated, precisely timed, and purposely driven by God the Father not for his own account but for ours.

Can you imagine for a moment standing before the wall of indestructible odds, and witnessing Christ in his resolute power crushing it down as he laid down his life before it. For with HIS one immeasurable commitment to sacrifice, the walls which had imprisoned hope of eternal life and forgiveness on all fronts is no longer standing. We have been freed! Oh but too many times we forget to live in accordance with what has been done and what we know to be true. We have been given a glimpse unto the paradise of Christ that is on the other side of a crushed wall and we have been welcomed into the kingdom. It is our choice as to whether or not we will accept Christ as an active day by day partner or to stay imprisoned by an imaginary wall that no longer stands.

Psalm 107:15-16 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.

There is nothing too grand that Christ can not come along side us and help us through it. There is nothing too shameful for us to overcome through Christ. No feat to great, no grief too deep, no pride too lofty, no habit too gripping, no trial too tangled, no
situation too gone....for Christ to not be able to contend with it. His power has been released, his glory shown, and his love for each of us contains no bounds or conditions.

Christ has broken down the wall of penalty and prison for our benefit. It is now our chance to step over the wall he has left in shambles into his kingdom and allow him the right to be our refuge, our redeemer, our rebuilder, and our rock.

Are we ready for a personal breakthrough in our own lives? If we are then we can do it just as we sit here reading, through prayer, asking God to give us the power, the strength, the will and the perseverance that Christ has offered unto each of us to be free...and be victorious. He is a victor over all things and all situations...it is us who hold tight to things we do not understand yet desire to control.

To God be the glory...for he has done the unimaginable through the life and death and resurrection of his son Jesus. He has brought us to himself, free of guilt and forgiven of our sins.

It was just a breakthrough image that appeared in my mind....oh but that image was powerful and such a reminder that that is what God can do for us each day through any situation that we are faced with,,,He can break through it. But each situation requires a trust and a belief that is accompanied by a hope that God can and will adjust us and our situations to tandem up with his plan. But just as this resurrection event happened over 2000 years ago carefully calculated, precisely timed, and purposely driven...that is also how he works in our lives and helps us to work through our trials. He knows how how we are tuned, and what drives us and how to grow us through any and all of our experiences. If only we will release our expectations, and submit to his. His are simply driven, we tend to complicate and evaluate and confuse issues that are simply not hard at all for him. If only we would trust him and submit to his ways....and not submit to imaginary walls that imprison us from the hope that he has laid before us.

May we accept this blessing, and live according to his riches. Amen

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . His glory will shine through!
