I did wake up a little anxious today about what the day had in store..Do you ever feel that way? Maybe you have to face something of discomfort or somebody of discomfort....and you are just dragging your feet a bit uncertain of the of the outcome...but as I pondered and prayed I was reminded with this day too God is there...His son Jesus is standing watch. He holds the outcomes in His hand for HIs glory. We may not see it initially or even ever for that matter but whatever situations we are faced with...he will use for his glory.
It is the trust factor that generates a peace that passes all understanding. But trust in what...trust in who? It is a sound footed trust that Jesus is Lord and authority over all things. He is the boss! But before you can trust in what you know you have to trust in who you know....and recount the track record that has been established from the beginning of time. Just look around you...what do you see? Now who is responsible for all of nature, all of creation, all matters under the sun...God is.... and now through His SON we have been granted access into passage of his Holy realm of excellence....We can tap into his mighty strength...adsorb the rays of his son's power and presence, and be confident that whatever comes our way in this life on earth is without a doubt covered through his perplexed plan....and ultimate purpose. We just have to stand by and be lead and answer whatever call he has generated. God's presence was documented in the Old Testament and His son was sent to this earth so we would have a first hand account of his presence, his ways, his love and his grace in the New Testament. It did not end there ...for HIs story continues through all eternity.
Anxiousness is a state of mind....that if we are not careful we can feed to where it becomes bigger than we are. I think that you too will agree that so many of the things that we are anxious about or wring our fists about never happen...We fret and tarry only because we are not trusting enough to allow the peace of Christ to penetrate our very hearts and minds. Oh sure it is an easy "say" and much harder concept to wrap our arms around...but that is exactly what we are called to do... Say it, believe it and act upon it....not as an idea that we came up with but a truth that has no holes...no exceptions, no cracks or conditions....and thank God that is is always available to be with us. He knows the way out ....
of anything...no maize is too great, no situation too complicated, and no problem is too big! We are the ones who make it big...and great and complicated! God looks at our doubts and our insecurities and says "count on Me' "you can trust me" and we can!
I don't know what you are wrestling with today....maybe you are scott free of worry...but just in case you hear a little voice within saying...DOUBT...doubt the power of Christ, doubt the intention of Christ, doubt the worthiness of Christ, doubt the ability of Christ, doubt the sovereignty of Christ....put it to bed with a headstrong assertive trust in Christ...and let your faith overcome your fears....no matter what level those fears have been allowed to elevate themselves. Let your faith capture them and lock them into Christ's vault ...leaving you with a unsurpassed peace...and a trustworthy companion in Jesus Christ.
I had no intention of writing this morning...but here I sit...wrapped once again in the peace of God that does pass all understanding. You too could be the bearer of His good tidings of peace if only you take a minute to give away that which is causing you unrest and making your heart anxious. God is faithful..God is present, and God is filled with a love and grace that centers us right back into his overseeing arms.. if only we would seek to know him better and trust him more fully.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Proverbs 12:25
An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.
My prayer for each of you this morning is that Christ would take away your anxiety and that you would rest confidently in His power, in His love and in His mighty authority. He is working on all of us to establish a relationship that is solidly founded in his Love. A trust that we can stand on no matter how high the winds of adversity may be. May God Bless you my friends today and always, Amen!
Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
