Move

I called their moms and asked if I could have the kids for a couple of hours because I wanted to load up the Plasma cars...(those cars that you sit on, no pedals and turn the wheel left to right) and take them to ride over the new bridge at Memorial Park. It sounded like a fun idea....and it was for the oldest one Blake (4) because he was fast and loved the momentum of down hill coasting ...the other two well...were not so fast....it didn't bother Catherine the two year old too much...she just like being included in anything...but William (3)...he just doesn't like it when Blake goes faster. I don't blame him I hate trying to keep up with others who are faster myself.William, in fair argument, contended that his other BIKE would work much better...He was probably right..oh well live and learn.

My plan was to ride on the bridge but when we got there ...there was so much more to do....especially in the eyes of kids...the TRAIN was actively making its way down the tracks....I say actively because it finally did stop right on the track for no known reason...and the train alone would have made the outing a success. For there is just something intriguing about a fast rolling, big engine moving down the tracks. The minute they saw it...and car doors were opened, and seat belts released, they bolted out of the car (with permission of course)...and ran to the grassy knoll to watch. There they stood, mesmerized....but it was loud...really loud and we were close....really close.

Then, along the way, as they were riding over the bridge, they spotted the adjacent field of wild flowers...and we surely had to park the vehicles and wander through them. It started as a mission to ride over the bridge and God gave us so much more that we had asked for. But isn't that the way he is? and What he does?

Someone wise visiting pastor at First Presbyterian years ago said that God doesn't drive parked cars. I still to this day use that as my motivation at times. Just move....and pray God's will to be done and God will either let you proceed forward,cause you to back up, or turn you in the direction that he has planned for the purposes that he has programmed. You just have to start moving....We do not know what God has in store for us...through our experiences , our adventures, our challenges and our opportunities.....but what we do know is that God is an idle God. He himself is always on the move; generating his bounty, releasing his wisdom, attending to concerns of his beloved children, guiding us in His ways, comforting us in our sorrows,
releasing his understanding...and bringing us to himself.

God always seems to out due our expectations, especially if we are watching for his hand in any given situation. Why are we many times so surprised at how a situation ultimately works out that has been covered in prayer? But we are...and we say...it is hard to belive that this or that worked out the way it did...it really is uncanny. But the truth is: God wants us to be joyful and filled with his peace....and that element of surprise that we feel when something that we have prayed for turns our exceedingly better than we had dreamed....should be of no surprise at all if we truly believe and trust in the workings of God.

Ephesians 3:19-21
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

To be successful in even the tiniest of endeavors we have to be willing to get up and move....grab the key of faith....and begin to move in a direction, and pray that God will lead you to the destination/purpose that he has waiting for you. You don't have to be moving fast or try to keep up with those around you....be content to move at your own pace and know that God will keep us with YOU no matter how fast or slow you are traveling. Your journey...is just that.... yours...and nobody else's. So why do we feel such a need to contend with others. The answer is: we are focused on earthly measures and not Godly ones. It is true when our eyes are focused on man and not on God that there that we find frustration, guilt, intimidation, and a constant need for something else to satisfy our cravings.

If only we would strive to expect God's unexpected and know that whatever God sees us or allows to come our way ...he will make HIS best out of it. We had a most wonderful time in a short time yesterday on our adventure...but it was because of all the things we had not expected that we found.

Dear Lord, Bless us with the key of faith to start our daily engines. And Lord once we start moving please guide and direct us according to your will and your purposes...and for your glory. Amen

Praise God wherever you are or whatever situation he has allowed you to be in...for His glory will shine through.
