Healthcare

We have watched and listened for weeks and months about this Healthcare bill that has now passed...or at least has almost reached its final execution...having one final vote to complete the process. And some are for it and some are against it...and it has caused uproar amongst the parties and the people too. But as I watched the news last night...again....I remembered that no matter how the vote goes down or has gone down....God is watching....he is watching the leaders of our nation and is allowing whatever happens to happen...for His own reasons....reasons we may not understand as of now....but for every action there is a reaction. And I do believe that sometimes God allows actions to force us into an awareness of where our roots are truly planted....and if the roots that this country were built on.....which were clearly roots based on Godly values.... have been severed....or are they continuing to be nurtured.

I can't even begin to say that I understand God's reasons or intentions...I just know they are deliberate....and they deliberately effect who we are as a nation and as a people. This is not a political statement in any way...only a reminder that God is our true leader....not the Republicans or Democrats....or Independents...one may hold the reigns of certain decisions....but God ultimately is the one who allows rules regarding our nation to go into effect.

Now bringing this a little closer to home....the root of all good is God...and the root of all evil is not God. In your life and in mine we are constantly in a position of holding the reigns to doing what is right or doing what is not. The root of our decision lies in who we are listening to for advice. Whose standards are we following...whose voice has the greatest impact? The pothole that we have to be so careful to not fall into is the pothole of SELF...and self only....adhering to self serving ways. For it is when we are so arrogant and prideful that we contend that only our own agenda is worthy of pursuit...that is when God's flag of righteousness that flies in our life when we are trying to submit to HIs way....is pulled down from the flagpole of His honor.

It is only when we include God in our decisions and trust in his nudges that we are able to stand tall in success. And sometimes it is a pretty hard thing to do. For the forces that surround us are often pretty overwhelming and tempting to side with. But we have to decide where we stand.....do we stand and grow on the roots of good ...that we have allowed God to plant within us or do we uproot what God has created and seek other directions.

The thing about God's roots are that they are dependable, not just for a season but for eternity. We can manipulate and rationalize all we want but the essence of what is good and right lies in the roots of goodness that God has nourished....within us. Compromise with God is not an option...either you are with him or you are against him.

Luke 16:13
"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

We will sometimes do anything or go through any hoops to get "our way"....but when we do that we are clearly using tactics that are not God driven. It can be in personal politics, business politics or nationwide politics....but when we engage in self driven political debates...be it personal or corporate....we are pushing God out of the decision making arena....and making way for a self driven, self advancing, self righteous standard of living.

Either we allow God the reigns of our lives....or not...sure we will sidestep time and time again....but if we give God the last vote on any decision that we make he will vote for His will to be done in our lives...and the reaction that we get from the action we take in involving him will have lasting effect....and will glorify God and honor His name.

The question we have to ask ourselves is: "Who have we voted in to be our own personal leader?" ...and... if it is God...then "Have we given him the ultimate power to veto or pass our own agendas and replace them for Hi?". It is a political decision....do we vote for self or for God.....for it is "our' health, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually that is in jeopardy.

Dear Lord, I know you watch us each day and wait to be called to be involved in our decisions...Help us to stand on the roots that you have given us and make choices that include your vote as the swaying one. Amen

Praise God wherever you are or whatever situation he has allowed you to be in...for His glory will shine through.
