Sometimes things happen that force us to be still and immobile and we are cast into a hard shell that shelters our pain, disappointment, regret, shame, brokenness etc. But as time passes so does the healing and when the time is right the cast is removed and once again we are able to be freed up to begin to regain the strength that we once had. (1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.) Recovery is not easy, for the immobilized position has been in effect for some time. But little by little life regains momentum
and as time passes we have a greater appreciation and sensitivity for others. For when we see others who are hurting, we are called to come along side them and encourage them because our understanding of God’s faithfulness and power has been heightened through our own experiences.
Everyday we are caught off guard with inconveniences, interruptions, heartaches, life changing scenarios, broken dreams and riddled dilemmas. Any of these things have a tendency to fight for front burner attention, a need to initiate self guided control tactics and even undermine our FAITH. For they can quickly become our focus and cause us to forfeit what we know as truth and distract us from standing on who and what believe to be the heavenly power that is infinitely greater than ourselves.
We are just coming off Easter celebrations and it is my prayer that whatever is going on your life that has caused pain, brokenness, fear to set in, or new bridges to have to cross, that you will remember that God did just what he said he was going to do through Jesus Christ. He forgave us, His Spirit remains steadfastly within us, his power is generated through his unyielding love, and his grace is poured over us through the funnels of our trails.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Hebrews 1:3
Imagine yourself at the tomb as Mary was, and Stop and stoop down and look into the empty tomb and remember that Jesus is not there he is here....with you and with me. Have faith in spite of circumstances, though I know it is often hard, and trust in God’s provisions and ultimate timing. He will light your path, direct your way and give you as much strength as you will accept as he brings you closer to himself.
Trails come in many shapes and sizes but I am convinced that through everyone of them if we remember to keep praying no matter how quick the prayer might be, or how big the problem is, God, hears those prayers and will, in ways that may surely not line up with our own, will answer them. May our confidence lie in Him as we faithfully stand on his promises to be with us always in our darkness and in our joy, and in our healing.
Dear Lord, How blessed we are to know that you oversee even the smallest of details in our lives and that as we trust in you we can be assured of your hand on every situation. Amen
Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
