Allegiance

I will be the first to say that foreign policy and strategies are far above my touch of understanding, but last night I stumbled on to an interview by Sean Hannity with Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel Prime Minister. I listened attentively to Netanyahu voice his ideas behind his leadership and I couldn't help but think that God was watching this man in smiling appreciation for his steadfast stance on defending his country and the biblical truths that he embraces.

He stated yesterday as he addressed a packed House chamber before a special joint meeting of Congress: "In an unstable Middle East, Israel is the one anchor of stability. In a region of shifting alliances, Israel is America's unwavering ally. Israel has always been pro-American. Israel will always be pro-American."

You don't need to do nation building in Israel. We are already built.

You don't need to export democracy to Israel. We've already got it.

And you don't need to send American troops to Israel. We defend ourselves.

While Netanyahu was in Washington yesterday and he and his wife took a walk down the Potomac and stopped among the monuments beginning with the monument of the Fallen soldiers in the Korean War and the inscription that read "Freedom is not free". You know, he stated, it requires, not merely vigilance but the willingness to fight for it, to defend it, which is very true. We identify with that, because God knows we've had to fight for our freedom, fight for our very survival in ancient times and modern times, the Jewish people have struggled like no other people.

His comments according to Hannity reflect an "almost deep reverence for this country. Its history, what it stands for, a deep knowledge of our founders, our framers, our Constitution and how that ties these two countries together, Israel and the United States."

Regarding the Lincoln Memorial: Netanyahu said, "you've got this immortal address, you know, government for the people, by the people." And he further explains: I'll tell you why these words resonate so deeply with me and with all Israelis. Because they're basically Jewish concepts that were originated at the time of the Bible, thousands of years ago. You know, that all men are created in God's image. That no ruler is above the law. That there should be universal justice. These were revolutionary Jewish ideas that were introduced thousands of years ago when the Earth was ruled by -- slave empires. That's what changed history."

It is God's story that continues to change history...that was a beginning...
As Christians, we believe that it was Jesus Christ who ultimately changed history and who has been given the reigns of allowing and controlling the details of history in the making of our today.

I write these comments today not in a political tone or position but in appreciation for a foreign representative to come to our country and state out right and publically declare the greatness of our nation and a basic understanding of the truths that this nation was founded upon. God being the center point. We seldom get such clear picture of moral clarity that is biblical based from our media based references and lead politicians. If we are to be favored by God then we must trust God, and be attentive to his commands and ways, not ignoring his power and his authority.

I don't know about you but I take this nation for grated and the freedoms that we as a nation are comforted with and enjoy. Just hearing this message, I know that much of it is a political backdrop for continued support, but there is an appreciation apparent here that we as Americans disregard in our everyday walk on the lands of our free existence. We are a great nation, and I don't mean to get preachy here, but if we are to remain great...we have to abide within the boundaries of a God driven society, non a man made one, within our leadership avenues. Biblical truths do prevail....and it is recounted biblically that kings who rule under the authority of God do so in successful reign and kings who do not incorporate a God driven regime suffer as do their people and their lands.

We casually pray for one thing or another but oh how I have been convicted to continue to pray hard not only for our freedom but for God to take the reigns of our country and turn us back to him, so that we may have his favor upon us. Politics and strategies are complicated, but in leadership and in our personal lives, we all have choices. Do we confer with biblical practices or do we take a self directed imitative to play out our decisions and ideas.
Our choices either include God or they don't. If we want His favor, then it we must solicit his ways, his input, his wisdom,....wherever we stand, personally and politically.

Luke 6:49
But the one who hearsmy words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Dear Lord, Please bless our nation and give us the courage and the discipline to stand upon a biblical foundation of truth and not man made pedestals designed for self guided rewards. Teach us to accept and honor your code of truth. Amen

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
