"You nailed it"...a common place phrase used to describe a direct take of the understanding of situation, an observance, a deed, or word. As Easter is quickly approaching, my thoughts of Christ and the turmoil, pain and sacrifice that he suffered on our behalf continues to pierce my heart and mind.
For they nailed HIM...Christ's enemies thought that by summoning this manipulated act of intense violence, they would be able to silence the political and religious chaos and so called "power undermining" on their behalf that he had done.
Three nails...that is all is took to secure him to a cross that he was forced to carry, to a death that his father had purposed and to an event that would ever change a world.
What they didn't understand was, by nailing HIM, they were empowering HIM! For what would happen in the following days would prove HIS power, once and for all, and would free his people from eternal death and the penalty of sin. This feat of resurrecting power would be claimed throughout the world to an eternity of generations.
Christ nailed the plan...and it continues to be generated throughout the ages, to all who come to know the power of our living Christ.
I know that sometimes we too feel like we have been nailed unjustly to a cross of unfair penalty, suffering, heartache and despair. But as Christians we must keep the hope and faith alive that Christ has proclaimed, and shadow our understanding in an ultimate belief that our suffering will too be resurrected, and the glory of Christ will one day shine through our darkened days.
We suffer as he has suffered and not a moment goes by in our lives that he has not witnessed our sadness, or experienced our pain. For he has been there...and felt it first hand. He knows us and loves and has his mighty hand of grace upon us. We must secure that thought within us, when days are dark and hope seems to be buried in the sands of time. For the power of God and the grace of God will see us through if only we abide in our trust and faith in him.
1 Peter 5:10-11
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Three nails, one cross, could not or would not be able to contain the love, the sacrifice, the suffering, the forgiveness, the plan, the purpose, and the HOPE ....that we as a people of God were given by Christ and through Christ on that day, days to follow, and days to come. To God be the GLORY!
Matthew 28:6-8
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
To God be the GLORY, May you have a blessed Easter. And may God place upon your heart an "You nailed it"...appreciation for all that he has done and continues to do in us and through us for His glory. Amen
Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . His glory will shine through!
