I set my sights on round top last weekend and meandered around and through the back roads, enjoying the beauty of the countryside. There truly is something to be said about wide open spaces, no traffic, cows grazing in the pastures, and horses gracing the fields, the beginnings of the wildflowers showing their colors, and the topography of hills and dales, forest and meadows. It retreats me into a peaceful and thoughtful countenance of appreciation and awe of the wonders of nature and the way God has orchestrated the beauty of the world around us. And for every region under heaven he has declared his touch of variety in the display of his works.
When we think about God and all his doings, there is no way to fathom his incredible and infinite ways. Oh, but how we take for grated those blink of the eye feats that are before us. We could not have imagined them, we only can proclaim them. Now think a minute how that same God of wonder has and is working in and through your own life. We are all part of his grand picture and purpose. Look around for a minute...even at your own home and the way you have decorated it and the special touches that you have added to make it unique to you and your family...now consider how God has placed you in the spot that you are in for his unique purposes and design. Lots of times we don't feel too special in the spot we are in, but God has planted us just as he has planted the free growing plants on the countryside. We are part of a bigger picture and must be reminded that though the world is vast in size, we are an integral part of it, and we do make a difference.
We are the tiny seedling who God grows unto his own purposes. We must be rooted in his Son, nourished by his word, and enhanced by his Spirit so that we may grow to serve Him and accomplish His purposes for His glory. We are surrounded by his glory, but it is the light of his glory that is within us that we are to reflect and make known to those who are in need of encouragement, comfort and support.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
May we embrace the reality that we are all a special part of God's bigger picture. And may we go forth today with a confirmation that we have been given a special assignment that has been chosen especially for us, by God, for the benefit of someone else. Oh what a difference that vision can make, not only to the bearer of the one we have served, but also to the heart from which the act was generated by the Spirit.
Look around, and what do you see? Where is God? He is in everything!
Dear Lord, Oh how you have graced us with your presence that abounds around us. May we seek to see you in all things, hear your in all places, and find you even in the darkest hours. Amen
Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
