Just thinking about Christmas...the closer it gets it seems the longer my "to do" list seems to get when it should be getting shorter..
I was trying to regain my true focus for the reason for this season. So this morning, I put those errands aside for a few minutes and reflected on how complicated I was making things and how simple the framework of Christ was:
Christ was born in simple settings...he came to us from a simple background
He lived a simple life, he didn't need all the "stuff"
He dressed in simple clothes, what counted was what he wore in his heart
His friends were simple and ordinary, no airs, no requirements, no pressures
He ate simple food...no need for fancy prep.
He told simple stories in parables, stories that enriched life itself
He taught simple lessons...to seek him and love others...and didn't overstate simple principles
Though His life was simple.... his impact was rich, filled with depth, character, concern and commitment. Blessed are we who know HIM....love HIM....worship HIM...abide in HIM..
and share our stories of HIM!
I knew something was brewing in my thoughts and somehow I ended up with this "simple" poem in my head...
Jesus,
Born to be our Savior
Born to set men free
Born to be the blessing
For all mankind to see.
Born to forgive our trespasses,
Born to guide us along our way
Born to give us hope and comfort
As He blesses us each day.
Born to be our holy compass
Born to touch us with his grace
Born to lead us from temptation
While in this earthly place.
Born to be our overseer
Born to keep us in his sight
Born to brighten darkened pathways
As he leads us with His light!
Born to pour His grace upon us
Born to extend His fathers love
Born to give us peace and understanding
As we seek Him from above.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
May his blessings be upon you! Love, Cathy
Praise God wherever you are or whatever situation he has allowed you to be in ...for His glory will shine through!
