Biopsy

It seems to be becoming an everyday word.....Biopsy....some of us hear about it, some experience it, we stand in prayer with others as they go through it....and we pray for resulting clarity throughout it. A biopsy is a way of taking something from the inside that is deemed to be potentially destructive and examining it on the outside.

The matter removed is critiqued with intensity and professional expertise. A determination is then made through investigation as to whether the area in case needs further attention. If it does then a plan of removal and preventative treatment is put into play to eradicate the initial flag of concern as well any culprits that may be seeking refuge for further disruption.

I hesitate to write this because many of you have been tapped with this experience and as I have watched ...it is a journey filled with potholes that you would give anything to sidestep...It is a very private journey...no matter how many people are standing with you in person and in prayer. For you are the one who makes the calls of how to cope...you and God if you have invited him to walk along with you. For only God has the ability to help you slow down your natural tendency to react. He gives peace to restlessness, calm to anxiousness, faith to fear, and hope to situations that we do not know the outcome of.

The culprit is most often cancer. It is an ugly disease that comes in so many varied forms...it can be aggressive, it can be slow growing,
it can be positioned all over our bodies...or confine itself to one particular area. But one thing is consistent.. "cancer " the very thought of it brings about a restlessness and anxiousness and cautiousness to any who have to address it. The thought of it, the thought of the repercussions of it, the thought of getting through it...the thought of having to be dependent on someone else's expertise to treat it.etc.brings us realize our vulnerability.

But it all starts from the biopsy....and it is at that point...that the vulnerability
begins to have a footing. When we are notified that a film or an exam shows a sign of something that is irregular...that is when we immediately pause and reflect on what is normal now and what might be ahead...and we then have to make a choice as to whether to accept the advise of further investigation or accept responsibility for what happens without it....and be strong enough mentally, to not be thought absorbed in lieu of what was suggested.

If you haven't trusted God as of yet to be your steadfast guide in life...the initial dealing of anything that may cause unrest is the time to take a step towards asking God to be your PARTNER! He is the one who CAN be with you at all times in all places and instinctively knows all of your concerns....and how to give you peace in the midst of wrestling anxiousness.

But just as a biopsy is a worldly procedure....God also is available to perform biopsies on our personal flags of concerns....from His spiritual viewpoint. He knows what is inside of us that is causing havoc...he knows our fears, our disappointments, our frustrations, our failures, our shames, our blames, our feeling of unworthiness and our inability to perform according to his standards.
And it is God who if we allow Him to, will bring those things to the open and help us to be centered into His treatment of grace and forgiveness ....thus giving us freedom from a culprit that steals our joy and gives way to destructive behavior.

It is only when a flag of concern is brought to light...that we are able to study it and make adjustments accordingly. But when we are faced with tough choices...we have a tough God who will stand as a Partner to help us overcome our fears and anxieties. It is God who we must focus on and not the situation. For God remains steady and able...in comparison to our situations which tetter.

If any of you today are facing health challenges...I pray that you will give God the opportunity to stand beside you and guide you. He will give you peace in the midst of uncertainty...and he will soothe your soul if you let him and he will give you strength when you are weak at the knees with indecision...God is able to hold you tight and secure you in his truth when the winds of chaos come rolling is....Trust Him....give Him a chance to show you how faithful he is.

1 Corinthians 1:8-9 (New International Version)

8He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

I have just experienced a biopsy...everything was fine....but I now understand
the procedure...and it helps me now to relate to others and also helps me to further recognize what a true friend I have in Jesus. For it is a bestowed blessing to know that Jesus, the friend who is standing beside you has all the answers and all the power, all the wisdom, and all the strength to get any of us through anything....no matter what the results are. It is just a matter of trust...and I trust Him with my life...as well as the lives of those I love.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your many blessings but most of all I thank you for being a trusted friend in all circumstances. Amen

Praise God wherever you are or whatever situation he has allowed you to be in...for His glory will shine through.
